Favourite Book

Ultimately my favourite books are Harry Potter but I thought I'd tell you about another favourite.
My Sisters Keeper was so beautiful and unexpected. Rarely do I feel such compassion for fiction, but this had me in tears for her. Only occasionally are such unexpected plot twists executed so perfectly.

Ever since I found them for a quid in Asda (almost as good as 2 Ben & Jerrys for £3) they have become my favourite pick-me-up. In the words of Dawn French "It's not Terry's it's mine!"

Nothing like it, so easy to get lost in. Makes me feel unusually sophisticated.

I watch tennis if that counts? Yup. Ok. Well I watch Wimbledon cos I'm British like that. My mum has always watched it so I guess I kinda got accidentally into it. If I'm honest it's the only sport I completely understand. I mean does anyone actually understand cricket and what's with the weird scrum thing in rugby? Anyone care to explain? Federer ftw.

Finally here - university. Sounds scarier than it is, my life has become surreal. A mix of meeting new people everyday, learning crazy complicated science and learning the pros and cons of independent living. Who knew looking after yourself was so much effort?

I think I've changed, I love this years picture, taken by a friend who was practising her photography, she's talented. Actually she took last years photo also. I have so much more confidence this year, and better hair. Otherwise, pretty similar. I think my face looks different though.

Nothing. I am fairly average. Nothing makes anyone different from EVERYONE else. Somebody else will have the same quirks, likes and dislikes as us. its enevitable. I'm probably the only person in the whole world with my full name. But that's probably it. Sorry to be a letdown.

I'm boring, most people call me by my name but as ever there are exceptions.

H-Bird - as named by chloe, im not sure why. but i likes it
Helebe - this is an old one! possibly orginating from primary school when we were hippies cos we were too cool like.
Chef - I am a chef, she is my slave. end of.
HVB - Those initials i hate, but I forgive the person who calls me this as they are rather special.
Miss Bird - At work the kids had to call me this, i worked with one of my best friends so it kinda stuck

I plan to go to uni, very soon. Sept 25th to be precise. Scary times. Moving out seemed a lot easier 6 months ago when it was merely a dream.

To become a research Pharmacologist and find drugs that will cure currently incurable diseases/disorders and hopefully save some lives

ok, that was rather deep and personal. no doubt these might change. but for the moment I am happy with what I have.

Day WHATEVER. How you found out about tumblr and why you made one.

Well, interchange tumblr for blogspot for a start....
How did i find out? I believe it was on a little website called stardoll.com, long story, rather addictive almost cultish website someone was looking for writers for their blog so i made an account and became a writer for their blog. It was fun, made my own blog and over a year later deleted the contents, restarted it and hey presto we are here now. Yeah that was unexciting. hmmm seeing as I've missed so many days I'm gunna do another one now.

Biting my nails.
Yup.
I have stubby nails and it drives me insane. Psychologists say it takes 40days to break a habit, coincidently it also takes 40 days to make a habit. Seems like a fair exchange.
However hard I try I cannot stop biting my nails. A week is easy, 2 weeks is harder. Anything past that and I cannot help myself.

Now this is the give-away that I stole this off someone's Tumblr page. *awkward face*. Anyway, minor setback aside. The meaning behind my blogspot name? well the URL "a wish for something more", basically its a song by Amy MacDonald. Kinda sums up how I feel most of the time. I love my life but I'm always looking for more. Plus I love the song, and other ones I considered were already taken.

1. I hate tuesdays and thursdays. Bad things seem to happen on these days. Always have.
2. I love watching The Hills. It makes me happy.
3. I wish I could play the piano, sing or paint. I can do none of these, it makes me sad.
4. My mother likes my full name as it has the same rhythm as "follow the yellow brick road" and I hate her for it.
5. I love Harry Potter. I am such a HP nerd it is unreal.
